There is no doubting that PPI is a good product, an excellent product in fact if you do find yourself unable to pay your bills in the event of illness etc. The problem with PPi arises when the customer takes out the insurance without actually knowing about the products available and the levels of cover they will be entitled to.

This is where the great 'ppi scandal' has arisen - with the terrible mis-selling of PPI products by most of the financial institutions selling it.

There is some good advice in this post, so take note of it. However, if you haven't the FSA says it is working on a long-term solution to ensure customers are treated consistently and fairly when complaining about the sale of a PPI policy and the action has been taken to ensure recent PPI complainants are not disadvantaged.

I had a PPI charged to my loan+cover that added up to almost 40 % of the actual debt. When I found that those charges were actually not-so-legal procedures I opened a claim against the financial entity that had miss-sold the protection insurance against my will.

I had the people at Belmont Thornton www.ppiclaimcompany.co.uk deal with the legal procedures and they won my case. They handled the claim and dealt with the correspondence and paperwork. I finally got my money back!

Did you know that it is estimated that 7 millions of PPI policies are sold yearly to loanholders?? 7 millions!! far too many victims for such a rip-off scam.
Good article

Best,
Meri
